Cathode Ray Zone is a webzine devoted to arts, letters, and popular culture. I will be serving as Fiction Editor and technical lead. I will be writing original fiction, reviews, and performing editorial direction for the fiction section of the site. There’s a lot to see, including the Signal section. Be sure to bookmark the "Signal" page - it is an ongoing curation of quality social media content.
My first piece for the site, “The Greatest Musician You’ve (Probably) Never Heard” is a review of an unfinished documentary about Chris Whitley, one of my all-time favorite artists. Whitley was a darkly poetic and atmospheric blues musician. The review has a selection of songs and videos of the musician, as well as an embed of the latest cut of this unfinished film.
I still make comics too!
Today I can share with you a cool process video from artist Jacob Dudek, the artist on our upcoming cyberpunk/Russian-gangster comic series, Splinter City.
