Announcing: Milton’s Comics & Culture Radar - The Podcast
Milton’s Comics and Culture Radar launches a companion podcast - today! On the show, I will bring a range of guests to discuss the worlds of nerdy culture - comics, movies, television, and more. We’ve already got a few episodes in the can and some excellent guests lined up to get us out of the gate running at full tilt.
You can listen to the first episode here on Substack or download in your usual podcast app. To subscribe, search on Spotify, PocketCasts, Stitcher, etc. It should be discoverable on Apple iTunes in 3-5 days.
The first episode features Bob Frantz and Kevin Cuffe, the writers behind the Metalshark Bro comic book series, who are currently running a Kickstarter campaign for Ninja Nuns: Bad Habits Die Hard.
Bob and Kevin are talented writers - Metalshark Bro is one of the funniest books being published these days. They have infectious enthusiasm and also have an excellent podcast of their own.
Special thanks to Meredith Nudo. She’s a writer, editor, social media manager, comedian, and voice performer. Meredith is the narrator for the podcast. Meredith also has an excellent newsletter, Transmit To Your Eyeholes, on the web at https://hardcorenudoty.com/
Stay tuned - we have a number of things in the works - interviews, as well as a recurring segment called “We need a ruling, Joe,” in which the writer (and legal counsel) Joseph Thompson adjudicates disputes with a pop-culture angle.

Recent adds to the bookshelf:
Suncatcher - A fantastical YA graphic novel about music, creative passion, and obsession - the art style and enthusiasm immediately drew my interest. Eager to check it out.
Displacement - memoir-based, magical realist story about a teenager who is pulled back in time to witness her grandmother's experiences in WWII-era Japanese internment camps. The publisher (First Second Books) has a stellar track record with stories of this variety.

“Thompson Heller” Promotional Updates
This week, I was a guest on the Comics Experience Make Comics Podcast. I spoke with comic creator Joey Groah about the genesis of the “Thompson Heller: Detective Interstellar” comic book mini-series. It was born in the Comics Experience Workshop, and we go into detail about workshopping comic scripts.
Also, this week, we were finally able to reveal the cover for issue #2 of the series, which you can pre-order now! Here’s the listing in the Previews catalog.
