Orson Welles: Warrior of the Worlds #1 releases Wednesday! It’s been quite a journey to here, but, everyone on Team Orson is thrilled to finally get the first chapter out there. Special thanks to my partner-in-crime, Erik Whalen, who is hard at work drawing the penultimate chapter of the saga.
On Wednesday, you can order the book directly at scoutcomics.com. And of course you can pick it up at your local comic shop.
In support of the book’s launch, I’ll be at several events this week, where you can also check out several variant cover exclusive editions of the book, including some bad-ass METAL covers.
Bedrock City signing
Alamo Drafthouse screening
I’ll be introducing Welles’s documentary film “F for Fake” at the Alamo Drafthouse at LaCenterra as part of the Film Club series programmed by Rob Saucedo (Where Wolf), and selling copies of the book. Tickets are available on the Alamo Drafthouse website.
Eastern Rim Funny Book & Vintage Con
On Aug. 19th-20th, I’ll be at the Eastern Rim Funny Book & Vintage Con in Baytown. This is my first time at the show, but I’ve heard it’s a great show - and it’s got free admission and free parking. This year’s guests include David Lloyd (V for Vendetta), Jae Lee (Marvel, Image, DC), Nick Pitarra (Manhattan Projects), Michael Winslow (Police Academy) and I’ll be alongside my “Houston Comics Scene” cohorts Justin Prine and Nico Rodriguez.

Special Thanks
This week would not be possible if not for a long list of collaborators and partners-in-crime. There are too many to list in full, but I’d like to thank James Haick at Scout for believing in the book when it needed it most, Joe Thompson for legal and creative counsel, Andrea Lorenzo Molinari for his precision and enthusiasm as the editor of the book, Lesa Miller at Scout for her tireless hours on the project. Many fellow comic creators have helped me at various stages along the way, including Dave Chisholm, Rick Quinn, Sean McArdle, Richard Davis, Andy Schmidt, Renton Hawkey, Chris Doray, Nico Rodriguez, and Justin Prine. My brother Matt and all the great folks at Bedrock City and the Dead Sidekicks Society provided moral support as the length of this journey kept getting longer. And ultimately, the artist Erik Whalen, who’s done phenomenal work on this book and despite only signing up to originally do a 10-page short, didn’t blink as this thing sprawled into an epic saga.
Thanks for the mention, Milton. It was an honor and a pleasure. And you can count on me anytime.
